Lotus Tai Chi began as a seated fitness system Sifu Ron created for his father and for seniors who wanted to enjoy Tai Chi from a chair.

His father passed away before the system was finished, but Sifu Ron is continuing the journey they could not complete together by sharing it with others.

Lotus Tai Chi adapts traditional movements, drills, and principles for seated practice while preserving as many of their fitness benefits as possible. Built around 18 original Lotus Blossom forms, these bite sized sequences make Tai Chi easier to learn, fun to remember, and always taught with Sifu Ron’s down to earth, laughter first style.

Relax, breathe, and let the Infinity Ribbon become your own!

Sifu Ron has revised this form so modern adults and seniors can learn and enjoy it without feeling pressured to copy an artistically perfect shape. Every body moves differently, so the focus is on comfortable mobility, balance, coordination, posture, transitions, and flow.

Forms are only one part of complete Tai Chi training, but Thursday gives students time to explore this one with patience and care. You will learn each movement’s name, pathway, and practical purpose, making the sequence easier to understand and remember. For Sifu Ron, health, mobility, and meaningful movement are king. The form should fit the student, not force the student to fit the form.

Thursdays, 10:30–11:30 AM Pacific Time

Safety Checklist

  • Wear comfortable clothing and supportive, nonslip shoes.
  • Keep water nearby and take breaks whenever needed.
  • Practice in a clear, well-lit space free of rugs, cords, pets, and other obstacles.
  • Keep your screen where you can see Sifu Ron without twisting or creating a tripping hazard.
  • For seated classes, use a sturdy chair without wheels that is low enough for both feet to rest fully and firmly on the floor. Your feet provide your main base of support as you sit upright and move, so never use a chair that leaves them dangling or barely touching the floor.
  • Keep a chair, counter, or wall nearby for balance support during standing exercises.
  • Use only light weights, exercise bands, or balls when instructed and appropriate for you.
  • Move within your comfortable range of motion. Never force a stretch or movement.
  • Stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, faintness, or unusual shortness of breath.
  • If you have an injury, medical condition, or concerns about exercising, speak with a qualified healthcare professional before participating.
